Why contribute
Contributing is a way to grow with a project you believe in. Points recognize your impact and help us identify our most active community members as the platform develops.
Recognition
Your contributions are tracked and visible, building a public record of your impact on the community.
Early-Contributor Consideration
As the platform grows and paid roles open up, active early contributors will be among the first we consider.
A Say in the Platform
Help shape the direction of a tool built for the geospatial community, and grow your network within it.
Built on transparency
- Points are logged per action with timestamps — you can query your full history any time.
- No duplicate awards — the system prevents double-counting automatically.
- Self-review protection — you don't earn reviewer points for your own submissions.
- Automatic revocation — if content is removed, associated points are deducted fairly.
- Your total points are always visible on your profile once onboarded.
Who can contribute?
Anyone passionate about the GIS and geospatial community. Whether you are a student, a working professional, a researcher, or simply someone who wants to help the field grow — there is a role for you. No prior platform experience required.
Contribution areas include:
- • Finding and posting GIS job listings from around the world
- • Writing blogs, tutorials, or career guides for the content hub

This is a voluntary community program, not employment or a job offer. Contributors take part at their own pace with no fixed hours and no binding commitment on either side. Contribution points are a recognition metric — they are not wages, shares, securities, or a guarantee of payment.
Participation in the contributor program is voluntary and does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or investment relationship. Contribution points are a non-monetary recognition metric and do not represent wages, equity, securities, or any entitlement to payment or profit.
