Supported county-level land-use and spatial planning projects. • Built and maintained standardised geodatabases. • Conducted geometry, topology and attribute QA/QC. • Prepared spatial datasets and maps for planning analysis. • Coordinated data requirements and project outputs with different departments.
Developed a GIS workflow to assess forest compartment change using historical and recent aerial imagery. Analysed 38 forest compartments covering approximately 1,483 hectares and classified change status using structured domains and confidence levels. Built an interactive web viewer with imagery swipe, compartment selection and feature highlighting to support visual review of detected changes.
Developed a spatial data QA workflow to assess parcel-level fibre coverage and identify inconsistencies between parcel and serviceability datasets. Processed 65,111 parcels using QGIS and PostgreSQL/PostGIS, applying spatial indexing, ST_Subdivide and overlap-based validation. The PostGIS workflow reduced processing time from an impractical QGIS workflow to under one minute. Achieved 99.94% alignment at the ≥95% coverage threshold, with 40 parcels flagged for further review.
Developed a network-based accessibility workflow to estimate travel time from populated areas to tsunami evacuation locations. Automated spatial processing and network analysis for 588 origins and generated summary statistics to identify areas with poor evacuation accessibility.
Developed an earthquake exposure assessment for Wellington City and Lower Hutt using GeoNet shaking intensity data, LINZ building footprints and Stats NZ administrative boundaries. Processed approximately 134,000 buildings and compared ArcGIS and RiskScape outputs to validate modelling consistency. Produced building exposure statistics showing spatial differences in earthquake shaking intensity between Wellington and Lower Hutt.
