About the Role
CSTEP is hiring an Analyst for the Adaptation and Risk Analysis team (flood modeller for urban flooding in India). Entry-level and fresh graduates (0–~3 years; official posting lists 0–1 years relevant experience including academic/project experience) with programming and modelling skills. Based in Noida (CSTEP also has a Bengaluru office). 24-month duration.
Responsibilities:
Support hazard modelling and risk assessment for floods, extreme precipitation, and other climate-related hazards.
Geospatial analysis using ArcGIS/QGIS for hazard mapping, vulnerability and risk analysis.
Develop hazard susceptibility and risk maps using statistical and machine learning approaches.
Pre-process, analyse, and visualise geospatial and climate datasets using Python/R.
Support hydraulic and hydrological modelling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM).
Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and project deliverables.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in ArcGIS or QGIS and basic Python or R programming required.
