About the Role

Eastern Oklahoma Development District (EODD) is seeking a motivated Community Development & GIS Specialist to work with cities, towns, and counties throughout eastern Oklahoma. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in GIS, community planning, infrastructure, grants, or local government who wants to learn, develop new skills, and build a long-term career. You don't need experience in every area. We are willing to train the right person. What You'll Do Create and update GIS maps and infrastructure inventories Assist with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications and projects Help develop Capital Improvement Plans (CIPs) Work with local officials to identify community and infrastructure needs Assist with grant-funded community development projects Gather and organize project data, maps, reports, and documentation Participate in planning and project meetings Coordinate with local officials, engineers, EODD staff, and other project partners Attend professional training, workshops, and occasional conferences Who We're Looking For- We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working with people, willing to learn, and able to manage multiple projects. Preferred qualifications: Education or experience in GIS, geography, planning, public administration, business, community development, or a related field GIS or mapping experience preferred, but training can be provided ArcGIS experience is a plus Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills Good written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team A degree is preferred but may be substituted with relevant education or experience.
