Flood Risk Consultant 📍 Hybrid Working | Flexible UK Office Location A leading multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Flood Risk Consultant to join its growing Flood Risk & Drainage team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to develop expertise across flood risk, drainage design, hydraulic modelling, and water environment projects while working on high-profile developments across the UK.
The Role Prepare Flood Risk
Assessments (FRAs) for planning applications and development projects.
Develop
Outline and Detailed Drainage Strategies. Undertake flood risk analysis using national, regional and local datasets. Support hydraulic modelling, hydrological assessments and flood management studies. Contribute to Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) strategies and designs. Produce high-quality technical reports, drawings and project documentation. Collaborate with planners, engineers, environmental specialists and wider multidisciplinary teams. Liaise with clients, local authorities, LLFAs and the Environment Agency. Projects & Sectors Residential developments Commercial schemes Mixed-use and regeneration projects Infrastructure and transportation Energy projects Public sector developments Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Water Management, or a related discipline.
Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies. Understanding of the UK planning and development process.
Experience within a consultancy, local authority, or engineering environment. Strong report writing and communication skills. Knowledge of NPPF, Flood & Water Management Act, SuDS principles, and drainage standards.
Desirable
