Organisation / Company: University of Macerata Research Field: History Position: Archaeology Researcher – First Stage Researcher (R1) Application Deadline: 24 Aug 2026 – 13:00 (Europe/Rome) Country: Italy Type of Contract: Temporary Job Status: Full-time EU Research Framework Programme: Not funded Research Infrastructure: No Offer Description The research objective is to develop a model for managing archaeological and environmental data, starting from the pilot cases of Urbisaglia, Gortina, Antigonea, and the Drino Valley, using GIS and 3D reconstructions of the three urban contexts. The project is part of the University of Macerata's research into the relationship between archaeological research and land management. The main locations will be the Archaeology Laboratory and the Hum@Lab of the University of Macerata's DSU, located at Palazzo Coturfidi. The work will be carried out independently and without constraints. Visits to the archaeological sites covered by the research are planned: Urbisaglia, Gortyn, and Antigonea. Candidate Requirements Proven work and/or research experience in the geographic area covered by the call. Proven experience and knowledge of issues related to the relationship between archaeology and urban and regional planning. Scientific publications relevant to the research program.
