WHAT AWITS YOU
Become part of our Agricultural Products Environmental Fate team as a Geodata Steward. In this role, you will support the organization, development, and implementation of GIS (Geographic Information System) projects and geospatial data activities within BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division.
Consolidate geospatial data requirements from various units across Research & Development, Marketing, and Sales.
Manage the procurement, documentation, and administration of geospatial data on existing platforms (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise).
Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Independently handle project-based geospatial data processing tasks, such as:
- Classifying high-resolution land-use maps
- Interpolating spatial data
- Identifying landscape features using remote sensing data
WHAT YOU BRING
Completed Master’s degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, Computer Science with a focus on Spatial Data Science, or a comparable qualification.
Solid experience with relevant (meta-)data standards, data structures, and formats for large spatial and temporal datasets.
Proven experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), especially the ESRI software suite and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Programming skills—ideally in Python in the context of ArcGIS products (e.g., ArcGIS API for Python, GeoPandas).
Knowledge of Remote Sensing and prior professional experience in agriculture are advantageous.
Excellent communication skills in English.
German (and/or other language) skills are a plus.
WHAT WE OFFER
Gross annual salary (full-time): €59,000 – €61,000, depending on qualifications and experience — plus a performance-based bonus.

Location-independent work models with defined on-site days in Berlin and residence in Germany:
- Ability to work remotely from another EU country for up to six weeks per year.
