Geographic Information System Specialist

Job Title: GIS Specialist Location: Richmond, VA Duration: 12 months Contract with Ext This role is primarily (90%) fieldwork and offers a strong entry point into the electric distribution industry. Job Summary: Join the Joint Use/Fiber Make Ready Team to perform field-based GIS data collection and support basic design decisions. Key Responsibilities: Collect field data using an iPad and GIS software Measure utility attachments using a hotstick Support design recommendations based on field observations Travel to project sites (company-provided rental vehicle) Update GIS systems with collected data Requirements: Experience with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS)Fieldwork experience preferred Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays Ability to safely store a rental vehicle
