ONSITE IN DALLAS, TEXAS About the Role Senior GIS Applications Developer We are seeking an experienced GIS Applications Developer with 4+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Esri GIS solutions. This role will focus on GIS application development, system integrations, enterprise GIS infrastructure, troubleshooting, and ongoing application support. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, spatial databases, and SQL, along with the ability to work directly with business partners to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. Responsibilities Assist with the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of GIS software applications. Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day application and system incidents to maintain service reliability and availability. Consume, transform, integrate, and update data between multiple systems using integration technologies and APIs. Partner with business stakeholders to identify and define application requirements and technical needs. Analyze requests for application changes, enhancements, and modifications and recommend appropriate technical solutions. Create and maintain technical and business documentation, including application requirements, objectives, deliverables, specifications, and system documentation. Write, translate, test, and maintain software programs and applications based on technical specifications and end-user requirements. Prepare system, application, context, and infrastructure diagrams to support development and analysis. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to application developers and other IT team members. Support ongoing system maintenance and help ensure established SLAs are met. Work with end users on systems analysis, general system design, and detailed system design. Train end users on new or modified applications, reporting tools, and analytics capabilities. Prepare status reports and communicate project or assignment progress to management and team members. Stay current with evolving programming languages, GIS technologies, development tools, utilities, and client/server technologies. Follow established IT procedures, development standards, naming conventions, and documentation requirements. Qualifications 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting Esri GIS solutions. Required Skills Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments. Strong development experience with Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, and GIS applications. Experience supporting enterprise GIS infrastructure, applications, and web services. Knowledge of spatial databases and SQL development. Experience diagnosing and resolving complex GIS application and infrastructure issues. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Experience using Jira and Git within a GIS software development environment. Preferred Skills Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of utility-sector GIS implementations. Experience with mobile GIS technologies and field workforce solutions. Experience with real-time GIS capabilities.
