Collaborate with development staff on product enhancements and solution architecture
Stay current with industry trends, Esri platform updates, and geospatial best practices
Own delivery and quality
Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and scope, and flag risks early
Facilitate communication between clients and technical staff
Oversee documentation of processes, deliverables, and project decisions
Support clients (occasionally)
Attend client meetings on behalf of leadership to provide technical insight or project updates
Represent the GIS team in client-facing discussions when business needs arise
Communicate project status, technical capabilities, and deliverable timelines clearly and professionally
Support leadership in maintaining client relationships through responsive communication
What you'll bring
Required
Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field
5+ years of progressive experience in GIS / geospatial technology
2+ years managing or leading a technical team
Strong proficiency with the Esri ArcGIS platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise)
Experience with QA/QC processes for GIS data and deliverables
Comfort with occasional client-facing interactions - meetings, presentations, status updates
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities
Preferred
Experience with GIS development workflows (Python, SQL, APIs)
Familiarity with enterprise GIS solutions and data management
PMP, GISP, or other relevant certifications
Experience in the utility, energy, or infrastructure sectors
Experience defining technology roadmaps or leading digital transformation initiatives
Who thrives here

You inspire, direct, and develop a technical team
Client presence
You're professional and confident representing the team in client settings

Adaptability
You shift comfortably between technical management and business conversations
Accountability
You take ownership of your team's output and your clients' satisfaction
