About the Role
Our Client, Scottish Power, is working on a large project with the aim to modernise their network through the implementation of Low Carbon Technologies. The role of the GIS technician is to process these projects by reflecting their network upgrades on systems such as ESRI and SAP. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to work well as part of a team, as well as on their own initiative and has great time management skills.
Objectives and responsibilities of this role
Understand the client’s network and what practices are used to capture it on ESRI
Ensuring quality assurance methods and tools are used
Logging and managing the client’s asset data on SAP and excel
Problem solving and troubleshooting data issues
Time management and prioritisation skills to ensure projects are completed within the SLA
Requirements:
Qualification in a GIS related field or experience in working with GIS or similar software is desirable
Experience of working with data from asset management systems is desirable
Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite
Experience in working with large datasets and in analysing data quality
Accuracy and attention to detail
Problem solving skills
Ability to quickly learn new software applications
Flexible and adaptable to change
Good communication skills including the ability to provide feedback and escalate issues
Ability to work towards deadlines
Ability to work within a team
