About ISB Baum We are the engineering and expert consultancy firm Thomas Baum (ISB Baum), with offices in Münster and Bassum, Lower Saxony. For over 30 years, we have been managing projects related to soil, water, agriculture, and the environment—from soil protection concepts to surveying and drone flights. Your Responsibilities Planning, permitting, and execution of drone flights (photogrammetry) Georeferencing and analysis of aerial imagery, digital elevation models, and 3D models Integration of flight data into GIS systems Building, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial datasets in GIS and databases (e.g., GeoPackage; migration of CAD formats into GIS-compatible datasets) Conducting on-site surveying tasks (construction sites, area measurements, land parcel determinations) using various surveying equipment (GNSS rovers, drone flights, leveling instruments, etc.) Preparing maps, plans, and analytical reports Ensuring data quality and documentation Coordinating technically with clients, authorities, and project stakeholders, as required Your Profile Completed training as a Geomatics Engineer or equivalent qualification (e.g., Surveying Technician with GIS focus) Practical experience in field surveying as well as data processing and preparation Proficiency with GIS software (QGIS and/or ArcGIS Pro) and Microsoft Office applications Solid understanding of coordinate systems, data formats, and data quality (error tolerances, application areas and limitations) Enthusiasm for fieldwork and construction site work Requirements Valid Class B driver’s license What We Offer Interdisciplinary project teams comprising geoinformatics, surveying, soil science, water management, and agriculture—offering ample opportunities for learning and shaping projects Targeted continuing education, e.g., drone pilot certification or software training Flexible working hours to support work–life balance A secure, permanent position in an established firm with over 30 years of experience A small, friendly team of 13 colleagues with short decision-making paths Additional Benefits Fair compensation and special payments Home office options by arrangement 30 days of annual leave, company health insurance, Hansefit wellness program, and other perks
