About the Role
Forest Key is looking for a Geospatial AI Developer to strengthen its capacity to develop AI-based solutions for forestry. The role is based in Joensuu, with hybrid and remote working possible within Finland, and can be full-time or part-time alongside studies. The main task is to develop AI-based remote-sensing and GIS data-processing solutions for forestry applications. Responsibilities include developing AI and machine-learning solutions using remote-sensing, GIS and forestry data; processing and analysing satellite, LiDAR, drone and other large geospatial datasets; developing Python-based workflows and maintainable processing pipelines; implementing solutions in cloud or other scalable computing environments; and supporting technical demonstrations, customer discussions and solution development. The position seeks strong Python programming skills, practical AI or machine-learning experience, experience with remote sensing, GIS and LiDAR or point-cloud data, and relevant forestry knowledge. Additional advantages include deep learning, computer vision, advanced point-cloud processing, Azure or another cloud environment, Docker, spatial databases, geospatial software development, and technical customer meetings and demonstrations. Professional English proficiency is expected, while Finnish is a clear advantage. Applicants should send a CV and a short description of their relevant experience, AI/remote-sensing/GIS/software-development work, and motivation for joining Forest Key. Applications should be sent to Alain Minguet.
