GIS Analyst

GIS Analyst II Position Details: Hybrid position based in Saint Paul, MN The GIS Analyst II will support the client by analyzing spatial data, identifying patterns and trends, and converting complex datasets into actionable GIS insights. This role involves mapping software, data cleaning, modeling, and internal and external geographic data to inform business decisions. The GIS team improves business responsiveness, effectiveness, and efficiency through innovative GIS research, planning, architecture, and use of GPS, telematics, and business transformation technologies. This role supports coordinated GIS-based planning by delivering spatial intelligence that improves field service and sales efficiency. You will report to the Institutional GIS Manager and partner with GIS Specialists, Analysts, Developers, and divisional leaders to apply and expand GIS solutions. What you will do: Use GIS expertise and analysis to help field teams optimize service delivery. Partner with field management and business leaders to improve route and territory optimization through spatial analysis. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver GIS insights that support business needs. Provide GIS reporting, findings, and recommendations to improve service efficiency and business outcomes. Coach business partners on how to understand and apply GIS outputs. Apply coding, geospatial, statistical, and modeling tools to identify opportunities. Support development of new GIS capabilities and contribute to departmental and company goals. Communicate effectively with GIS team members, stakeholders, and management. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a GIS Analyst role. Bachelor’s degree in geography, planning, environmental science, or related field. Experience with ESRI ArcGIS, including data development, manipulation, modeling, and analysis. Experience with geographic and spatial methods, large datasets, and multiple data sources. Ability to grow GIS and business skills to increase impact. Comfortable communicating and collaborating through Microsoft Teams screen-sharing sessions. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience with ESRI Network Analyst tools, including Vehicle Routing Problem. 1+ years of geocoding and address matching experience. Experience applying GIS to business analysis, territory design, route design, maps, reporting, and decision support. Experience with ArcGIS Online, Enterprise, Portal, Experience Builder, dashboards, SQL Azure, or enterprise geodatabases. Strong organization skills with the ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and work with minimal supervision. Ability to review reports and data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience in fast-paced, multitasking, advisory, or reporting environments is a plus.
