Senior GIS Analyst ArcGIS / GIS Application Development Location: Hybrid - 3 4 days onsite per week Contract: 9+ months with potential to extend or convert to full-time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced GIS Analyst with strong expertise in ESRI technologies, GIS application development, spatial data analysis, and enterprise asset data management.The ideal candidate will develop and maintain GIS applications, perform complex spatial analyses, validate and manage geospatial datasets, and build interactive mapping solutions using ArcGIS and JavaScript-based mapping technologies. The role also involves Python scripting, enterprise GIS administration, and collaboration with technical teams and business users. Perform advanced GIS analysis, spatial data validation, and geospatial data management. Develop, enhance, and maintain GIS applications using ESRI technologies. Design, build, and deliver web applications incorporating interactive maps and spatial data. Develop mapping solutions using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs. Work with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcSDE, Portal, web adaptors, and data stores. Develop GIS tools, automation scripts, and applications using Python. Create and maintain multi-layered maps and perform complex spatial analyses. Manage and validate geospatial data associated with enterprise assets. Support enterprise asset management systems and spatial data integration. Troubleshoot application issues, debug code, and improve GIS application performance. Extract, analyze, and manage spatial data using SQL and related database technologies. Collaborate with GIS users, system administrators, developers, and business stakeholders. Translate technical concepts and GIS findings into clear information for non-technical users. Develop and maintain technical documentation, mapping workflows, and data management procedures. Support linear referencing systems and location-based asset data when required. Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field with GIS experience . 4 8 years of GIS and GIS application development experience . At least 5 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering web applications . Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs. Strong proficiency in ESRI GIS technologies, including: Web adaptors and data stores Proficiency in Python scripting . Experience developing complex mapping projects and performing advanced spatial analysis. Ability to build GIS tools, applications, and multilayer maps independently. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL. Familiarity with ESRI Roads & Highways or similar linear referencing solutions. Experience with enterprise asset management systems and asset-related datasets. Experience developing GIS applications for infrastructure or asset management. Experience with Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools. Experience integrating spatial data with enterprise databases and business applications. Hybrid work arrangement based in Mechanicsville, VA. Expected onsite presence 3 4 days per week . Occasional in-state travel may be required. The role involves collaboration with GIS, IT, asset management, and business teams.
