Compensation: Full pay range $34,559.20–$50,148.80 (part-time salaried; posted range adjusted for 20 scheduled weekly hours; hiring generally from minimum up to 80% of range). Benefit eligibility: Non-Union (20–29 Hours).
Role summary: Under general direction, assists Planning and Development Services (P&DS) by providing technical GIS services — spatial analysis, modeling, and geodatabase design.
Essential duties:
Design and deliver geospatial solutions (data, workflows, queries, analyses) with business users
Create cartographic products for print, presentation, or digital use
Create, maintain, and enhance key GIS department datasets; implement data quality practices
Help develop GIS data standards and procedures; maintain metadata and documentation
Use object-oriented programming and scripting for process improvement and automation
Collaborate with GIS professionals across City departments
Design and implement field data collection solutions
Minimum qualifications include proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder, StoryMaps, Survey123, and Field Maps; relational databases and queries; geospatial concepts; and working knowledge of object-oriented/scripting languages. Bachelor's in geography, public administration, engineering, computer science, natural resource management or related field (or 8 years related experience) plus 2 years GIS experience.
Working conditions: Hybrid — in-person at least 2 days per week. Must pass a background check.
