About the Role
Company
AUDACE – Agence d’urbanisme pour le développement et l’aménagement du Cotentin Manche – is a non-profit association (under French Law 1901), established on April 22, 2025. As a territorial engineering tool, it supports its 24 member local authorities in implementing public policies and guiding their development. Its study area covers 270 municipalities and 315,500 inhabitants.
The young agency, currently composed of 10 employees (urban planners, geographers, GIS specialists, etc.), has begun its 2026 work program and is commissioned to inform public policy decisions of its members.
Your Missions
Under the supervision of the Data and Information Systems Manager and in coordination with thematic study officers, you will contribute to various agency studies (territorial development plans, plans and programs, socio-demographic analyses, mobility diagnostics, etc.) by developing the data and mapping components:
Collecting, formatting, and integrating data into relational databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS),
Conducting spatial and attribute analyses,
Creating visual outputs (maps, infographics, dashboards, etc.),
Preparing GIS deliverables (internal and external data sharing, documentation, etc.).
Depending on your profile and interests, you may also contribute to mobile data collection projects, develop scripts for data processing automation, and/or support web-based visualization tools.
Additionally, you will be expected to participate in technical watch activities and provide technical support to thematic staff on the agency’s GIS tools.
Profile
Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5) with specialization in geomatics (initial training or career transition). Prior experience in territorial planning, urbanism, or territorial observation—particularly within an urban planning agency or consulting firm—is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in GIS software (QGIS or equivalent) and data visualization techniques (mapping, infographics, dashboards, etc.),
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL / PostGIS),
Strong Excel (or equivalent) skills,
Knowledge of programming languages such as R or Python (for data integration automation, statistical analysis) and/or web development (dashboards, online mapping) is a plus.

Solid understanding of data integration, validation, and update workflows,

Working Conditions
Fixed-term contract (CDD) for 6 months, no probation period, to be filled as soon as possible.
Location: Valognes, Manche department.
Collective agreement: SYNTEC.
37.5 hours per week, with accumulated RTT (reduction of working time) days.
Salary and status based on SYNTEC grid (approx. €2,200 gross monthly).
1 day of remote work per week (remote work charter applies).
75% reimbursement of public transport subscription costs.
