GIS and Geospatial Data Coordinator – Stockholm City Property Office

About the Role Are you passionate about how geospatial data can drive better decision-making in a major urban environment? The Property Office of Stockholm City is looking for a technically curious GIS and geospatial data coordinator to join our team. You’ll play a pivotal role in the transition to our new geospatial data platform and help ensure our geodata is accurate, accessible, and easy to use across operations. In this position, you will maintain and further develop GIS solutions in close collaboration with colleagues and end users. You’ll become part of a 17-member technical specialist team within the property department — a highly skilled, experienced, and supportive group with a positive and collaborative culture. You’ll also work closely with internal IT administrators, customer managers, and operational staff. Your Responsibilities As GIS and Geospatial Data Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining and further developing the Property Office’s instance of Stockholm City’s geospatial data platform, built on Esri’s ArcGIS platform. Your work will include: Developing business-aligned GIS solutions using knowledge of system integration and programming. Collaborating with central administrative units, other municipal departments, and technical management teams across Stockholm City. Providing problem-solving and internal support related to the geospatial data platform. Prioritizing and managing user requests and support tickets. Key Tasks: Prioritize and guide the development of GIS applications. Develop and customize GIS applications. Maintain and enhance existing solutions. Manage geospatial data information governance. Handle user access and provide internal support. Conduct user training. Help shape how the organization uses the geospatial data platform in collaboration with other roles. Qualifications & Experience We are looking for someone with: Completed higher education in GIS, system development with a GIS focus, or equivalent relevant education. Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS web applications. Understanding of system development and operational workflows in a real-world business context. Strong written and spoken Swedish skills. Merit Points: Experience maintaining ArcGIS platforms. Experience managing databases in ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. Knowledge of SQL. Experience with FME (Form and Flow). Proficiency in Python, ArcPy, or Arcade for scripting and automation in GIS. Understanding of web development with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. Experience with version control and documentation tools.
