GIS Apprentice 6 months tenure
Position Summary The GIS Apprentice will support the GIS team in geospatial data development, map production, data management, quality control, and project support activities. This role provides an opportunity for fresh graduates to gain hands-on experience with GIS tools,spatial data, and infrastructure-related projects while working alongside experienced GIS professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities
GIS Data Management
Create, edit, and update GIS maps and geospatial datasets using GIS software.
Prepare map layouts, thematic maps, figures, and project deliverables.
Digitize features from drawings, satellite imagery, and other source documents.
Maintain map standards, symbology, and cartographic quality.
Drawing Support
Assist project teams in updating and maintaining GIS databases.
Support data conversion, georeferencing, and spatial data integration activities.
Perform quality checks on GIS data and maps to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Organize and manage project files and geospatial datasets.
Engineering Support
Support engineering, environmental, utility, and infrastructure projects through GIS data preparation and analysis.
Assist in collecting and processing spatial information from various sources.
Prepare reports, maps, and presentation materials for project teams.
Learn and support web GIS, ArcGIS Online, and geospatial application workflows.
Skills & Abilities
Required Qualifications
M.Tech/M.Sc. in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geospatial Technologies, or related fields.
2026-2027 students preferred.
Preferred Skills
Basic understanding of GIS, mapping, geography, or spatial data concepts.
Familiarity with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or similar GIS software is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of Remote Sensing and geospatial technologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
