About the Role

jll.spear is an French group, with a local presence in Kraków Poland. We specialize in the development and deployment of engineering and digital innovation solutions for industrial clients. YAAPS is our open-source dynamic mapping plateform, fully developed in house. We are looking for a contractor based in Poland to help us adapt it to the needs of a local client working on renewable energy site prospection. You will build and maintain the map layers that drive site identification across Poland, and you will work directly with our integration team in France to shape the platform around what the client actually needs. This is a client-facing role. You will often be the only person from our side in the room, so the job is as much about running the relationship as it is about the data. What you will do Track down open public datasets that have not yet been exploited for site prospection, judge whether they are reliable enough to build on, and integrate them Build and maintain the map layers used for renewable energy site prospection across Poland Design and maintain the data pipelines feeding the maps Sit with client teams, collect their needs, reframe and prioritise them Create custom maps for the client Work with our integration team in France, translating what you learn on the client side into concrete platform requirements Required — GIS domain expertise Hands-on experience with Polish open public datasets: sourcing them, assessing their quality and coverage, and getting them into a usable map. Geoportal / GUGiK, BDOT10k, PRG, EGiB, NMT and GUS data should be familiar territory, not names you would have to look up Working knowledge of QGIS: handling layers, styling them to preview what will be integrated Polish coordinate systems (PUWG-92 / PUWG-2000) and reprojection, at minimum the ability to diagnose a misaligned layer Required — technical baseline Read-level SQL on PostgreSQL / PostGIS: query a database, read a data model, verify a value yourself Ability to read an Airflow log and tell whether a job failed. Fixing it is not expected Ability to tell a data problem from an application bug before escalating Required — client posture Comfortable working autonomously on client site and becoming their reference contact Writes usable feedback: reproduction steps, screenshot, dataset concerned, user impact Languages Fluent Polish is mandatory, plus English and/or French. Practical B2B contract. Remote, with frequent travel to Kraków and Warsaw. YAAPS is a platform we build and operate ourselves, so this is a long-term engagement rather than a single delivery.
