You’ll join the Department of Digital Resources (DRN), supporting the digital transformation of a territory of over 690,000 inhabitants. With 185 staff, 10,000 workstations, and nearly 500 business applications, the DRN supports key public policies: mobility, water management, urban planning, ecological transition, culture, and green spaces.
Within the Directorate of Geomatics and Observation (DGO), you’ll become part of the core team responsible for managing, valorizing, and disseminating Nantes Métropole’s geospatial data.
Department & Role Description
Reporting to the Head of the Data Administration Unit, you will lead the industrialization and maintenance of automated geospatial data processing within the dedicated data warehouse, while contributing to the administration of geospatial data.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated processing pipelines for geospatial data
Designing, industrializing, and maintaining automated workflows and their orchestration—particularly using FME ETL, Python, and SQL queries
Organizing, structuring, and securing the ingestion and distribution of geospatial data between systems and applications
Contributing to the metadata catalog
Implementing controls to ensure processing and data quality, integrity, and reliability
Writing and maintaining technical documentation
Providing technical support related to data processing
Acting as a point of reference for end users
Defining frameworks and best practices
Advising and supporting data administrators and project managers in implementing and managing data workflows
Animating a user community and supporting skill development in ETL/FME usage
Conducting and sharing technology watch on relevant tools
Contributing to the administration and evolution of the geospatial data infrastructure
Participating in the full geospatial data lifecycle: modeling, integration, validation, quality assurance, cataloging, and dissemination
Defining and applying data governance rules; monitoring web services provided to users and ensuring their proper operation
Leveraging ESRI technologies and contributing to evolving GIS practices
Conducting forward-looking research on open data and available data streams, and assessing potential use cases
Desired Profile
You are a seasoned professional in geomatics and GIS, with at least 5 years of proven experience in managing, integrating, and automating geospatial data.
Required Skills:
Proven professional experience in geomatics / GIS
Strong expertise in ETL processes (especially FME)
Proficiency with PostgreSQL / PostGIS databases
Advanced skills in SQL and Python
Solid knowledge of ESRI tools
Experience in structuring, integrating, and validating geospatial data
Technical Competencies (Savoir-faire):
Designing and optimizing data processing pipelines
Working in project mode within GIS and spatial ETL environments
Supporting users and formalizing procedures
Collaborating across teams and providing regular reporting

Working Conditions
Salary
Based on the civil servant engineer scale + Allowance Regime + Certification Bonus + Public Service Bonus (€1,846 gross/year).
Indicative salary range: €40,000 – €50,000 gross/year
