Job Description
Do you enjoy cartography and GIS, and have an eye for quality and structure? We are now hiring a GIS Engineer who wants to help ensure current and reliable maps and facility registers for the City Environment Administration and urban development in Gothenburg.
The city is growing rapidly, and the increasing volume of data and higher detail requirements place greater demands on quality and maintenance. As a GIS Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that the City Environment Administration’s geographic information regarding infrastructure remains current and usable.
Key Responsibilities
Cartograph and maintain geographic data and facility registers
Survey and collect data to ensure up-to-date information
Administer GIS data in the database
Perform analysis and data handling in FME
Contribute to the development and quality assurance of workflows and data
Provide GIS support to various departments within the administration
You will join a team of five colleagues working together on facility registers and GIS-related tasks.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
A higher education degree in GIS
3–4 years of experience in GIS-related work, including at least two years in cartography and/or data maintenance
Documented work experience with FME and some experience with GIS database administration
A detail-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for data cartography and maintenance
Full professional proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
Merits
Experience with cartography/maintenance of municipal technical installations
Experience with tools such as: MyCarta, ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, HAJK
