GIS Experts (Consultancy) — Africa InCORE

GIZ is seeking a contractor for GIS expert services under the Africa InCORE programme (support to PIDA), implemented for BMZ and the EU with the African Union Commission, AUDA-NEPAD, and corridor institutions. Services Full data audit and correction of the existing shapefile repository (1,000+ files) across the AU's 38 recognised transport and infrastructure corridors: fix geometry, standardise attributes, and ensure CRS integrity Reconcile and harmonise the Transport Corridors Simplified master file against raw source shapefiles, with a Data Processing Log Fill critical data gaps: mining and extractive sites, major ports and logistics hubs, and proposed corridor buffer zones Document source, year, retrieval method, quality, and license for every gap-filled layer Build a clean GIS geodatabase with naming conventions, schemas, and metadata, including a draft Data Dictionary Produce 1 baseline continental map of all 38 corridors and 15 poster-quality maps (print-ready, minimum 300 DPI) for the priority corridors Deliver a replicable methodology (audit checklist, schema template, symbology, sourcing protocol) Capacity building Design and deliver two 5-day hands-on QGIS training programmes for up to 12 partners/staff (Year 1: introduction to GIS; Year 2: spatial data management and analysis).
