GIS & Geology Officer

Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases for geological and exploration activities. Prepare geological, topographical, location, and exploration maps using GIS software. Collect, organize, digitize, and manage spatial and geological data. Integrate geological, geochemical, geophysical, and other exploration datasets into GIS platforms. Perform spatial analysis and prepare thematic maps to support exploration planning and decision-making. Maintain accurate and up-to-date geological and exploration databases. Ensure proper data entry, validation, quality control, and documentation. Convert and manage GPS, survey, field mapping, and other spatial datasets. Support geologists and exploration teams with GIS-based analysis and mapping requirements. Prepare maps, reports, charts, and other GIS outputs for internal use and project documentation. Maintain proper backup, version control, and organization of GIS and database files. Coordinate with field and technical teams to ensure accurate collection and reporting of spatial data. Job Specification MSc in Geology or a closely related field. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in GIS, geological mapping, exploration, mining, or a related field. Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent platforms. Good knowledge of spatial databases and geological data management. Understanding of geological mapping, coordinate systems, GPS data, and spatial analysis. Experience handling geological and exploration datasets will be preferred. Strong analytical and data-management skills. Good attention to detail and accuracy in data processing. Ability to prepare professional maps, reports, and presentations. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work effectively with geological and exploration teams. Willingness to support field-based exploration activities when required.
