Position: GIS Intern – Vigo
Department: GIS (Environmental Business Line)
Mission
Support the GIS Department in the implementation and management of a technological platform for monitoring urban services—currently based on MOVISAT, developed jointly with EXPERTIS.
Key Responsibilities
Support the department in deploying and managing the technological platform.
Participate in drafting and overseeing contracts with entities involved in the platform, including feasibility studies, compliance monitoring, and improvement proposals.
Assist in procurement, spare parts, and repair of technological equipment.
Support fleet vehicle management and maintenance optimization (scheduling, consumption tracking, inspections, emissions) in coordination with the workshop manager.
Collaborate with team leaders in organizing work related to the technological platform.
Help manage and update platform data (e.g., containers, zones, routes, vehicles) in coordination with contract technical staff.
Support analysis, design, and execution of improvement proposals for contract performance.
Design tools for dynamic graphical documentation export.
Automate detection of green areas and street trees using remote sensing techniques.
Build databases and catalogs from open data sources.
Create 3D map visualizations.
Optimize workflows using Model Builder.
Candidate Requirements
Expected start date: January 2027.
Internship duration: 6 months, part-time or full-time (full-time preferred: 35 hours/week).
University internship agreement possible.
Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Environmental Sciences, Geography, or related fields.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong GIS skills (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.).
Knowledge of Python is advantageous.
Ability to commute independently to the workplace.
Paid internship.
