GIS Lead

ELOS Environmental, an Aventia Company, is seeking a GIS Lead to support a multidisciplinary team of GIS professionals, biologists, ecologists, archaeologists, environmental scientists, and project managers. The GIS Lead will process and manage spatial and tabular data in formats including geodatabases, shapefiles, KMZ, AutoCAD DWG, Trimble data, and field notes. The role will create maps, exhibits, and figures for technical reports and support environmental consulting projects. Responsibilities include: - Creating spatial data from non-spatial sources using digitization and georeferencing. - Applying knowledge of coordinate systems, datums, and projections. - Integrating new data into existing geodatabases and converting attributes across domain schemas. - Performing overlay analysis, advanced spatial analysis, data conversion, and manipulation. - Configuring and troubleshooting GPS devices and mobile data collection applications. - Developing automated geoprocessing workflows using GIS applications and scripts. - Creating and maintaining GIS databases and maps. - Developing web maps, applications, and dashboards in ArcGIS Online and Portal, including workflows involving Collector and Survey123. - Supporting spatial modeling, environmental analysis, remote sensing, LiDAR, UAV-derived data, and data visualization where applicable. - Managing and mentoring teams, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and communicating with executive stakeholders, regulatory agencies, clients, and technical staff. - Contributing to technical proposals, client presentations, project scoping, contracting, and budgeting for GIS work. Qualifications include a bachelor's or master's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; at least seven years of GIS experience; and two to three years of leadership or management experience. Advanced proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and geodatabase management is required. Experience with Python, ArcPy, ModelBuilder, web GIS, ArcGIS Experience Builder, environmental regulations, permitting, and environmental consulting projects is desirable. This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday, on-site role in Hammond, Louisiana. Candidates must be able to commute or relocate before starting. Salary is commensurate with experience.
