About the Role
Define GIS performance testing strategy covering web, desktop, and servicelevel workloads (ArcGIS Server, Utility Network, Feature Services).
Identify performancecritical GIS workflows (pan/zoom, tracing, edits, large spatial queries, batch jobs).
Create realistic GIS workload models based on editor, viewer, integration, and batch processing usage patterns.
Design test scenarios for:
Map rendering and symbology scaling
Feature service queries (attribute + spatial)
Utility Network traces and validations
Web GIS Load Test scenarios
Concurrent editing and versioned data access
Load and Stress Simulation: Execute load, endurance, and stress tests to determine how GIS (like ArcGIS Server) perform under high user traffic, specifically testing 2D/3D map rendering and data querying.
Bottleneck Analysis: Monitor system KPIssuch as CPU utilization, memory, response times, and throughputto identify bottlenecks related to spatial analysis or database queries.
Result Reporting: Create detailed performance analysis reports that highlight the system's performance, identifying areas for improvement or potential downtime.
Collaborate with Functional Analysts to map business flows into performance test cases.
Prior experience in GIS Testing assignments will be an advantage.
Collaboration & Optimization: Work with GIS developers and architects to suggest infrastructure changes, database tuning, or code optimizations to resolve issues.
Perform RCA on performance issues and recommend improvement opportunities.
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years working experience with Esri ArcGIS Software (Enterprise, Desktop, Server, ArcGIS Pro, Online)
Understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise Architecture- ArcGIS Server, Portal, data Store etc.
Understanding of ArcGIS Pro concepts: Maps, Projects, Layout templates, Editing Templates, Tasks etc.
Understanding of Esri geoprocessing tools: model Builder
Understanding of Geodatabases: Versioning and Spatial data Types
Understanding of Esri performance and Testing tools: PerfQAAnalyzer, ArcGIS Monitor, egdb etc.
Experience with tools such as NeoLoad, JMeter, or LoadRunner

Working on ArcGIS on Cloud platform would be an advantage
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to ever-changing situations
Exemplary problem solver skills and excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the Utilities domain will be an added advantage, along with domain knowledge specific to Electric or Gas
Knowledge of Esri Utility Network- Core Principles: SubNetwork, Associations, Containment, Tracing etc.
Proven knowledge of database design and PL/SQL query, stored procedure and trigger development
Experience with the Agile methodology and Jira software
Advanced Excel capabilities
