About the Role
We're hiring! The National Park Service Alaska Region GIS Team has an opportunity for an experienced GIS Programmer (55+) through the Experienced Worker Program.
This is a full-time, remote, one-year opportunity ($51/hour) focused on modernizing custom GIS applications to support ArcGIS Pro, cloud-based data storage, and our evolving geospatial infrastructure.
Pay: $51 per hour (not annual). Hours/week: 40. Minimum age: 55. Duration: 2080 hours (one year).
We're looking for someone with strong GIS development experience, including Python, C#, ArcGIS Pro SDKs, geodatabases, and metadata standards.
Duties include redeveloping the NPS Theme Manager for ArcGIS Pro and cloud storage, resolving legacy issues, aligning with regional geospatial standards/metadata, collaborating with the Alaska Region GIS Team, and maintaining documentation.
