GIS Solutions Engineer

Design, configure, customise, integrate, deploy and support scalable geospatial solutions. Translate business and client requirements into functional specifications, technical designs, solution architectures, workflows, data models and implementation plans. Administer Esri solutions including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder, Dashboards, Survey123, Field Maps and StoryMaps. Develop open-source and non-Esri GIS solutions using QGIS, GeoServer, MapServer, PostGIS, OpenLayers, Leaflet, CesiumJS, GDAL/OGR and GeoNode. Develop web, desktop and mobile GIS applications, reusable components, geoprocessing tools, scripts and APIs using Python, ArcPy, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL and REST services. Design and maintain enterprise geodatabases and spatial databases; perform spatial data conversion, migration, cleansing, transformation, validation and QA; publish and manage GIS services; integrate GIS with enterprise systems and third-party APIs; implement OGC and industry-standard services and formats; perform advanced spatial, network, suitability, raster, imagery and 3D analysis. Participate throughout the project lifecycle including discovery, estimation, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, training, handover and support. Prepare technical proposals, statements of work, architecture diagrams, estimates, demonstrations and proof-of-concept solutions. Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, patch and upgrade GIS applications, services and databases across development, testing, staging and production environments. Provide technical support, root-cause analysis, client workshops, demonstrations and training, mentor junior GIS resources, and evaluate emerging GIS, AI, remote sensing, cloud, digital twin and spatial analytics technologies. Required: bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Engineering or closely related field; minimum five years of progressive experience in GIS solution engineering, geospatial application development, enterprise GIS implementation or related work; hands-on experience with Esri and non-Esri/open-source GIS technologies; and experience with spatial databases, web/mobile GIS, APIs, system integration, technical documentation and client-facing consultancy.
