Role Description The GIS Specialist will work full time on-site at the Globe View Technologies office in Dehradun. In this role, the specialist will collect, process, and analyze geospatial data from various sources, including UAV, LiDAR, satellite imagery, and traditional survey datasets. Daily tasks include creating, updating, and maintaining digital maps, geodatabases, and spatial datasets to support projects across infrastructure, utilities, energy, and environmental domains.
The GIS Specialist will collaborate with project teams to produce accurate maps, visualizations, and reports, ensure data quality and consistency, and assist in integrating GIS outputs into client deliverables. The role also involves troubleshooting data issues, documenting workflows, and contributing to continuous improvement of geospatial processes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and handling Geospatial Data.
Candidates should possess skills in Data Management, including organizing, maintaining, and validating spatial and tabular datasets.
Candidates should possess skills in creating and interpreting Maps, including thematic mapping and spatial visualization.
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills for spatial analysis, problem-solving, and deriving insights from geospatial information.
Proficiency with common GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and familiarity with remote sensing or survey data integration is beneficial.
Relevant academic background in geography, geomatics, geoinformatics, civil engineering, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively in project teams, communicate technical information clearly, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Experience with scripting or automation tools (such as Python for GIS) and basic understanding of UAV, LiDAR, or satellite data workflows will be an advantage.
