Title: GIS Specialist – Permitting & Planning (m/f/d)
We are looking for a GIS Specialist (m/f/d) with a focus on permitting and planning. You will be responsible for the administration and further development of geospatial datasets and play a key role in data quality assurance and processing. A core responsibility is advancing digitalization and automation in GIS workflows.
Main Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and further develop geospatial datasets within the permitting and planning domain
Ensure data quality through quality checks, as well as preparation, harmonization, and further processing of geospatial data for planning, permitting, and construction processes
Coordinate and act as the technical liaison with adjacent departments and stakeholders
Develop, maintain, and optimize data models, geospatial structures, and databases; define technical specifications in close collaboration with relevant departments
Create, analyze, and visualize georeferenced information in the form of maps, dashboards, and thematic outputs for presentations, permitting procedures, and project execution
Support the standardization of geospatial requirements, processes, and workflows across multiple projects
Contribute to the digitalization and automation of geospatial processes, including integration of GIS data into central project and information management systems
Key Requirements:
Successfully completed university degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, or a related field
Ideally, several years of professional experience with GIS systems, with proficient use of ArcGIS Pro; additional knowledge of ArcGIS Server, QGIS, BIM systems, and FME Desktop is highly desirable
Solid understanding of core GIS functionalities: geospatial data capture, geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and visualization
Proficient in MS Office (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Experience with AutoCAD and Autochart for ArcGIS Pro
Demonstrated experience in automating geospatial data workflows—particularly in data capture, quality assurance, analysis, and delivery
Fluent in German (verbal and written); strong English skills
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with additional GIS software tools and programming languages
Advanced knowledge of geospatial data modeling
Familiarity with project management methodologies
