GIS SYSTEMS EXPERT

Job Purpose: The GIS Systems Expert will be responsible for the administration maintenance and continuous improvement of the organizations ArcGISbased systems. This role ensures the effective functioning of GIS infrastructure by providing support implementing solutions managing system updates and optimizing performance to meet operational and strategic needs. Key Responsibilities: Administer and manage ArcGIS Enterprise and related GIS systems (ArcGIS Server Portal for ArcGIS ArcGIS Online). Monitor system health performance and security; troubleshoot issues and apply corrective actions. Coordinate and execute periodic system updates upgrades and patches with minimal downtime. Provide user support and training to ensure efficient use of GIS tools across departments. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver geospatial solutions tailored to business needs. Design and implement data models geodatabases and custom GIS applications or tools as needed. Ensure data integrity quality assurance and standardized documentation of workflows. Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g. Python ModelBuilder) for data processing and routine tasks. Evaluate and integrate new GIS tools or technologies to enhance system capabilities. Maintain system documentation technical manuals and support guides. Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree in GIS Geography Computer Science Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience Proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise (Server Portal Data Store) and ArcGIS Online. Strong understanding of spatial databases (e.g. PostgreSQL/PostGIS SQL Server). Experience with scripting languages (Python JavaScript) for automation and customization. Familiarity with web mapping frameworks (e.g. ArcGIS Web AppBuilder Experience Builder). Excellent problemsolving skills with a proactive and analytical approach. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment. Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for nontechnical users. Preferred Qualifications: ESRI certifications (e.g. ArcGIS Desktop Associate Enterprise Administration Professional). Experience with cloudbased GIS deployments (e.g. AWS Azure). Knowledge of data integration with enterprise systems (e.g. ERP asset management systems). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
