Title: GIS Technician (H/F)
The position entails participating in GIS missions to support studies within our engineering consultancy’s Environment / Water / Ecology and Energy department. For environmental studies—particularly regulatory documentation—we must deliver outputs derived from spatial data.
Thus, you will design, implement, and provide project teams with deliverables (maps/atlas cartography, spatial and statistical analysis results), as well as interactive tools on a unified collaborative platform (WebGIS), facilitating data usage both in the office and in the field.
Reporting to the Team Responsible for Conducting Studies and Engineering Documents Using GIS, Your Responsibilities for Each Project Include:
Data Integration: Collection and integration of environmental data from diverse sources as well as project design data;
Data Processing: Format conversion (especially DWG to GIS), quality control (topology, attributes, data consistency);
Spatial and Attribute Analysis: Conducting multi-criteria analyses;
Cartographic Production: Creating maps tailored to internal service needs, with adaptability to client graphic charters;
Data Dissemination: Delivering outputs via a dedicated web-based collaborative platform for project teams and clients.
Depending on the project, you may also be required to:
Implement mobile/offline solutions adapted to specific needs, particularly for field data collection or real-time information tracking.
Requirements:
Minimum Bac+3 degree in GIS, geomatics, or cartography;
Mandatory proficiency in at least one GIS software (ideally QGIS or ESRI solutions such as ArcGIS);
GIS Software: QGIS (preferred), ESRI solutions;
Web Mapping Tools: ArcGIS Online / Portal for ArcGIS, GeoServer, GeoNode;
Databases: PostgreSQL/PostGIS, ESRI SDE, GeoPackage, file-based geodatabases;
Programming Languages: Python and SQL;
Cartography: Adherence to graphical semiotics standards;
Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years in similar GIS roles.
