About the Role
To be considered, you must currently be living in the UAE, hold a Bachelor's degree in Survey / Geomatics, Civil or Marine Engineering, and have at least 5 years of hydrographic survey experience.

Reporting To: Project Manager / Construction Manager / Chief Surveyor
Job Purpose To plan, manage and execute hydrographic and marine surveying activities for offshore and marine construction projects, ensuring accurate positioning, hydrographic data collection, setting out and as-built surveys in compliance with project specifications, client requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Survey Planning & Execution
Plan and execute marine, hydrographic, bathymetric and topographic surveys.
Conduct positioning and setting out of marine structures such as jetties, quay walls, dolphins, breakwaters, revetments, pipelines and offshore facilities.
Establish survey control networks, benchmarks, reference points and tide gauges, and apply tide and datum corrections.
Verify coordinates, levels, alignments and construction tolerances.
Prepare and review survey methodologies, procedures and work plans.
Support marine construction activities including dredging, reclamation, piling and offshore installations.
Engineering & Technical Duties
Analyse survey data and provide engineering support to construction teams.
Perform volume calculations for dredging and reclamation works.
Interpret project drawings, specifications and survey requirements.
Monitor structural movements, settlements and deformation where required.
Ensure survey accuracy and compliance with project tolerances.
Provide technical recommendations to optimise marine construction operations.
Survey Equipment Operations
Operate and supervise the use of GNSS / GPS systems, RTK survey systems, total stations, multibeam echo sounders, single beam echo sounders, auto levels, tide gauges and UAV / drone survey equipment (where applicable).
Ensure proper calibration, maintenance and certification of survey equipment, including patch tests and bar checks.
Coordinate with equipment suppliers for troubleshooting and repairs.
Data Processing & Reporting
Process and analyse survey data using specialised hydrographic software (for example, HYPACK, QINSy, EIVA or CARIS).
Prepare survey reports, hydrographic charts, profiles, cross-sections and as-built drawings.
Generate bathymetric maps and volume computation reports.
Maintain accurate survey records and documentation.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
Coordination
Coordinate with project engineers, construction teams, QA/QC personnel and subcontractors.
Liaise with consultants, clients and regulatory authorities regarding survey activities.
Attend project progress and technical meetings.
Provide survey updates and technical presentations to management and clients.
Quality Assurance & Control
Implement project QA/QC requirements for survey activities.
Verify survey accuracy through regular checks and validations.
Maintain survey control records and calibration certificates.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements and international surveying standards.
HSE Responsibilities
Comply with project HSE policies, marine safety regulations and permit-to-work requirements.
Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Ensure safe use of marine survey vessels and equipment.
Use appropriate PPE and marine safety devices.
Report hazards, incidents and near misses immediately.
Support project safety initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Survey Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline (mandatory).
5–10 years of experience in marine surveying and marine construction projects.
Experience in hydrographic and bathymetric surveying is essential.
Professional surveying certification is an advantage (for example, IHO Category A or B).
ADNOC project experience preferred.
Valid UAE driving licence preferred.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of hydrographic and marine survey principles.
Proficiency in surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, HYPACK, QINSy, EIVA, CARIS, Trimble Business Center and Leica Infinity / Leica Geo Office.
Knowledge of marine construction and dredging operations.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical and data processing skills.
Excellent report-writing and communication abilities.
Ability to work offshore and in challenging marine environments.

ADNOC Approved Marine Survey Engineer (approved on a previous ADNOC project).
Experience on ADNOC offshore and marine infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with ADNOC standards, specifications and engineering procedures.
Knowledge of offshore positioning systems, hydrographic surveys and marine construction controls.
Experience with ADNOC permit-to-work and HSE requirements.
Location: Site-based, UAE (marine and offshore project sites). Candidates must currently be living in the UAE.
