Join Pomerleau as a GIS Data Analyst Intern and gain hands-on experience supporting major construction projects across Canada through geospatial data management, GIS standards development, and spatial analysis.
What you will do
Support the GIS / VDC team in maintaining, structuring, and updating geospatial data related to active construction projects
Contribute to the development and improvement of GIS standards, data models, naming conventions, and best practices across the organization
Produce maps, dashboards, and GIS visualizations to support preconstruction, estimation, risk, environmental, and operations teams
Perform spatial analyses (site constraints, logistics, accessibility, environmental considerations)
Integrate, transform, and validate data from multiple sources (CAD, Excel, databases, GIS services) using tools such as FME
Work with spatial and relational databases to ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and provide GIS support to internal stakeholders
This role could be for you if you have
Currently enrolled in a college or university program in GIS, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field
Basic knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online / Enterprise
Exposure to or interest in FME for data transformation and automation
Knowledge of databases (spatial or relational), such as geodatabases, SQL-based systems, or cloud data platforms is an asset
Comfortable working with structured data sets (Excel, tables, spatial layers)
Interest in the construction and infrastructure industry
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and improve standards
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams
French required; functional English is an asset
