Jobs Coordinator-Geographic Information Systems 2026-08-28 Coordinator-Geographic Information Systems Department of Chief Operating Officer Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated Located in Cambridge Bay, NU Under the direction of the Manager-GIS (M-GIS), the coordinator-GIS (C-GIS) supports the development, operation, and maintenance of NTI’s (Nunavut Tunngavik) Geographic Information Systems (GIS) across all NTI departments, with particular emphasis on supporting the Department of Lands and Resources. Under the direction of the M-GIS, the position coordinates day-to-day GIS, cartographic, web mapping, geospatial data management, and database activities to support land management, resource monitoring, wildlife, marine and environmental research, and corporate information needs. To be invited for an interview; College certificate related to Computer Science or Geographic Information Systems or Web Development; 2 years of work experience in using ESRI ArcGIS Software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, spatial datasets, and current GIS scripting tool such as Python, Arcade, Model Builder, and JavaScript; 1 year experience designing and managing databases; experience with GIS scripting, automation, and web mapping tools such as Python, Arcade, , ModelBuilder, , JavaScript, or related geospatial tools is desirable; knowledge of Lands, Wildlife and Resources regulatory processes in Nunavut; knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, Inuit and Northern social and cultural needs and aspirations; oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work co-operatively with a variety of individuals and groups, both government and claimant; spoken and written Inuktut is desirable and the willingness to learn is required. Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement. Starting salary is $88,800.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
