Principal GIS Specialist.
Job Qualifications
Passion for and extensive experience in leading large-scale GIS project delivery, including project costing, resource planning, and people leadership.
Proven ability to engage effectively with external and internal clients, framework managers, and sales teams.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior colleagues.
Strong technical knowledge of ESRI products and other GIS platforms.
Understanding of complementary technologies such as CAD software, FME, programming languages, and software development practices.
A proactive mindset, bringing innovative geospatial ideas and challenging established ways of working.
Experience in engineering, environmental, or utilities sectors is advantageous but not essential.
Here's what you'll need
Minimum 10 years of experience developing geospatial solutions and delivering GIS projects for internal and external clients.
Proven track record of delivering projects to agreed scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements.
Experience promoting and selling GIS capabilities to internal and external clients.
Expert user of GIS software, including ESRI Desktop and Enterprise platforms, QGIS, and FME.
Strong data management expertise, including Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI), geodatabases, and management of data throughout the project lifecycle.
Advanced analytical, numerical, and data management skills, including Python, SQL, MS Excel, and FME.
Experience in Web GIS, including development of web maps, web applications (ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, ArcGIS Online, or similar platforms), and mobile data collection solutions.
Ability to lead and coordinate large projects, manage teams, and contribute to bid preparation and proposal writing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Global mindset with experience collaborating across cultures and working remotely with international delivery teams.
Advanced English language proficiency.
