About the Role
Be a vital part of the Eeyou Marine Region Planning Commission as a Remote GIS Analyst. This role focuses on spatial data management and analysis to guide land use planning. Reporting to the Director, you will lead geospatial database initiatives and support community mapping efforts in the Eeyou Marine Region.
Your skills in GIS software, geo-spatial analysis, and stakeholder communication will be key to integrating cultural and environmental data into regional planning processes. With a project-based approach, your contributions will directly impact sustainable development practices. Key Responsibilities:
Harmonize data collection for improved planning accessibility
Implement systems for effective data communication
Conduct multi-criteria evaluations and impact assessments
Prepare maps and reports for diverse stakeholders
Maintain comprehensive spatial databases and metadata Requirements:
Master’s degree in GIS or similar field preferred
Minimum of two years in professional GIS roles
Proficient in ESRI tools and cartographic design
Strong communication skills with diverse audiences
Flexibility to travel to remote communities Support community-oriented projects by leveraging your GIS skills effectively in this dynamic role.
