About the Role
What you’ll do - As a Senior Expert for Geo/GIS Services you analyse and evaluate the business requirements in accordance with the demand management process and translate them into solution designs.
As an expert for geographical analyses, you enable the combination of different data with spatial reference (especially in GIS systems) and thus the derivation of valuable additional information. One important data source is network performance data.
You will provide Geo Applications on basis of a GIS infrastructure, geographical data and analyses for all business areas of the company (for different VF markets, i.e. Germany, Portugal etc.).
You design, develop and implement scripts/solutions/applications to enable spatial analyses (self-service for the customers) and geo processing.
You will manage a project throughout its lifecycle, coordinating and managing suppliers during the design, development and implementation phases in accordance with the delivery management process, on time, quality and budget.
You actively evaluate opportunities to optimise the design and delivery process and propose appropriate improvement measures.
Geo/GIS applications & services: strategy, design, architecture, implementation, consolidation.
Project Management and delivery of local and central projects, where different international teams are involved (customers, providers, designers, administrators, developers or O&M technicians) - Budget ownership planning and execution.
Testing of services/applications together with the clients in order to ensure that implemented solutions are responding to the clients’ needs.
Who you are - A degree in telecommunications, computer science, geoinformatics or similar and at least 5 years of professional experience in telecommunications or IT.
Very good knowledge of GIS tools and geoprocessing SW.
Very good programming skills (Shell, Python…) - Very good database knowledge (Oracle).
Good knowledge of network data (especially network performance data).
Goal- and team-oriented work methodology, as well as cultural awareness when working together in an international environment.
Good knowledge of innovative technologies such as AI and machine learning round off your profile.
Good knowledge of agile working methods is desirable.
Deep knowledge of telecommunication business in terms of IT and Network technologies (Radio Access, Core, IMS, Fixed Access, Transport & Transmission).
Experience in OSS systems, especially Geo/GIS systems.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Good communication & negotiation skills with customers & providers.
Good skills for working in international multicultural environments with distributed and remote teams.
