Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree: min. 10 years of relevant IT experience
- Bachelor’s/Engineer’s degree: min. 12 years of relevant IT experience
- Secondary education: min. 17 years of relevant IT experience
Web Development: min. 15 years of full-stack web application development (front-end, back-end, and web mastering)
Geospatial Web Programming: min. 10 years of experience
UI/UX Design: min. 10 years of experience
Version Control & Data Management: min. 5 years using Git; familiarity with legacy SVN systems
Front-End Proficiency:
- JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- jQuery, Kendo UI Professional for jQuery, OpenLayers
- Legacy ES3/ES5 and modern ES6+ JavaScript
- Webpack / Vite
Back-End Technologies:
- Java, Node.js, or PHP
- Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST API
- PHP for lightweight server-side functionality
- Node.js for offline scripts, data automation, and transformation
- SQLite and SQL-based data access
Certifications & Training:
- IT Security / Web Application Security (certification or professional training)
- IBM Data Science Professional Certificate or equivalent
- IBM AI Engineering Professional Certificate or equivalent covering AI/ML methods for scientific/geospatial data products
- Digital Accessibility (certification or professional training)
- UX Research (certification or professional training)
Languages: English (min. B2+) and Italian (min. B2+)

Role Overview:
For one of our clients, we are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer with strong experience in web application and Web GIS / geospatial programming. You will join an international project developing a global settlement mapping system supporting exposure assessment within a European crisis management framework. Key focus areas include:
Application performance
Security
Digital accessibility
Scalability
Global user support, including low-bandwidth environments
Code quality and readability
Geospatial data transformation and visualization
Work will take place in an international, multicultural, and multilingual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain full-stack functionality—from front-end architecture and user interaction to backend logic, APIs, and database integration
Monitor, test, and optimize Web GIS application architecture, with emphasis on rendering performance, network efficiency, accessibility, and scalability
Design and develop new and existing architectural components to improve UX
Design data transformation workflows and automate conversion of scientific/geospatial data (e.g., XLS, TIFF → JSON, GeoJSON, Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF)
Implement web application security best practices, including data validation/sanitization, XSS protection, and vulnerability analysis/remediation per OWASP Top 10
Develop responsive applications for cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, integrated with REST APIs
Build server-side proxy services/endpoints
Create graphical assets, interactive data visualizations, infographics, and data-driven publication templates aligned with visual identity guidelines
Test, debug, troubleshoot, and prepare technical documentation
