Job Description
Only qualified GIS Analyst candidates located near the Mechanicsville, VA area will be considered due to the role requiring an onsite presence
Required Education
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or other related field with/ GIS experience
Required Skills
Experience in GIS and GIS application development (6 Years)
Experience in ESRI GIS Software Suite(ArcGIS Pro 3.x and higher) (5 Years)
Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing (Required 5 Years)
A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications
Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, design, development, and debugging skills
Must have experience in the development of complex analysis and mapping projects.
Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.
Must work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi-layered maps by using an appropriate combination of tools in the GIS application suite and other programming environments.
Self-starter with a technical background in software and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Candidate should have Proficiency in Python.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience with LRS and working knowledge and experience with ESRI Roads & Highways or other similar systems
Develop and maintain linear referencing systems (LRS) and GIS applications to support spatial data management needs
Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and scripting tools, preferably Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL
Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs
Experience in Reporting Tools such as Power BI is strongly desired
About the role: Client’s Central Office Maintenance Division requires an advanced GIS Analyst to support their Highway Maintenance Management Section. The candidate will take directions from the HMMS Program Manager and must be able to perform advanced GIS analysis, enterprise asset data management, GIS application development, and technical coordination. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing, validating, and maintaining GIS data associated with various maintenance assets, developing and maintaining GIS applications using ESRI technologies as well as serving as a technical liaison between ITD, asset management system administrators and system users of varying technical capabilities.
Hybrid Work Model requiring you to work 3-4 days per week from the office and Both Phone and In Person Interview required
