About the Role
Position Description
Tacoma Power is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst with advanced GIS expertise to support the Engineering Projects and Services (EPS) group within Tacoma Power’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) section. This role requires strong proficiency in GIS mapping and a solid understanding of electrical power systems and utility operations as well as familiarity with the Esri Utility Network, and related business systems.
Responsibilities Include
Review, evaluate, and manage Tacoma Power’s T&D GIS data residing in the Esri Utility Network environment.
Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between EPS and the T&D Product Owner, T&D Supervisors and the Utility Technology Services (UTS) team on GIS-related items including but not limited to testing, troubleshooting, drafting standards, enhancements, and best work processes.
Develop, update, and maintain documentation for staff procedures and workflow processes.
Serve as a technical lead and GIS subject matter expert; ensure a digital twin of the transmission and distribution network through quality assurance measures.
As assigned, provides end user training on related systems and process updates.
Qualifications
Minimum Education*
Bachelor's degree public or business administration, information technology or directly related field
Minimum Experience*
4 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or functional analyst, user support or database maintenance work in area related to assignment
Relevant education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis

Annual Salary: $105,643.20 - $148,740.80

Other Employment Information
Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.
Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.
Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
