About the Role
We are seeking a Senior GIS Engineer to join a team that depends on stable, well-documented geospatial automation to deliver consistent outcomes. Your focus will be on strengthening existing ArcGIS and FME Forms/Flows (Workbench) solutions, resolving operational defects, and improving maintainability.
You will work end-to-end across workflow changes — from analysis and updates through validation, documentation, and smooth remote collaboration across Australian business hours.
Responsibilities
Use ArcGIS tools to support geospatial data processing and analysis
Update and maintain FME Forms/Flows and Workbench solutions
Review existing workflows to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability
Troubleshoot workflow failures and data issues, then implement fixes
Create and maintain documentation for workflows, configuration and runbooks
Support validation and regression checks for workflow updates
Enhance supporting automation scripts using Python or shell scripting where applicable
Requirements
FME expertise across FME Forms, FME Flow, and Workbench
ArcGIS proficiency with hands-on use for processing and analysis
Workflow support background enhancing, maintaining, and stabilizing existing pipelines
Troubleshooting strength with strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Remote collaboration experience working effectively in distributed teams across Australia
Documentation discipline, producing clear operational procedures and change notes
Nice to have
Test planning experience for data or workflow pipelines
Python or shell scripting used for automation and operational support
Cloud exposure supporting modernization initiatives
