Senior GIS Specialist

Imerza is seeking a Senior GIS Specialist to lead GIS technical delivery across multiple immersive visualisation and digital twin projects. Responsibilities include managing GIS workflows from data acquisition and processing through integration into real-time 3D environments; enforcing data structures, schemas, naming conventions, and metadata standards; performing advanced geospatial processing and quality assurance; and preparing vector, raster, elevation, DEM, 3D feature, and attribute datasets for Unreal Engine. The specialist will use GIS platforms and tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and the ArcGIS Maps SDK for Unreal Engine to import, georeference, and integrate data into digital twin environments. The role also involves resolving coordinate-system, scale, precision, and performance issues with developers and visualisation teams; maintaining dataset version control and archives; documenting GIS-to-Unreal workflows; automating data pipelines; researching GIS datasets; and mentoring junior GIS staff. Candidates should have senior-level GIS data management and analysis experience, strong proficiency with ArcGIS or QGIS, practical experience integrating GIS data into Unreal Engine, knowledge of coordinate reference systems and projections, experience preparing geospatial datasets for real-time 3D environments, and GIS workflow scripting experience with Python or a similar language. Experience in real estate, architecture, urban planning, digital twins, Unity, BIM, or immersive visualisation is desirable.
