SENIOR GPR SURVEYOR Geospatial | Ireland – Dublin & Nationwide | Permanent See What Others Can't. Survey With Certainty. ECC Group is looking for an experienced Senior GPR Surveyor to join our growing Geospatial team in Ireland. This is a senior technical position for an accomplished survey professional with strong Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), underground utility detection and geospatial surveying experience. You'll take responsibility for delivering high-quality GPR and utility surveys across complex construction, infrastructure and development projects — from initial site assessment and field data capture through to interpretation, reporting and final client deliverables. THE ROLE As Senior GPR Surveyor, you will: Plan, coordinate and lead complex GPR and underground utility surveys Undertake detailed GPR scanning and interpretation Detect, locate and map underground utilities, services, structures, voids and anomalies Operate GPR, EML/CAT & Genny, GPS/GNSS and associated survey equipment Interpret complex GPR datasets and identify subsurface features Integrate GPR findings with other utility detection and survey information Undertake site reconnaissance and determine the appropriate survey methodology Maintain accurate survey control and field records Process, interpret and quality-check captured data Produce clear, accurate survey drawings, reports and client deliverables Work with AutoCAD and survey/data-processing software Ensure surveys meet required technical, QA and H&S standards Liaise directly with clients, engineers, contractors and project teams Identify site risks, technical constraints and potential data-quality issues Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior surveyors Support the continued development of ECC's GPR and geospatial capability WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We are particularly interested in candidates with: Significant professional experience in GPR surveying Strong underground utility detection and mapping experience Demonstrable ability to independently lead GPR surveys Advanced understanding of GPR principles, data acquisition and interpretation Experience using EML / CAT & Genny Strong GPS/GNSS surveying capability Experience with total stations and conventional surveying techniques Knowledge of PAS 128 or comparable utility-surveying standards Ability to interpret utility records, engineering drawings and site information Experience processing survey data and producing professional deliverables Good working knowledge of AutoCAD Strong QA/QC discipline Excellent site and client communication skills Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field Full manual driving licence Flexibility to travel to projects throughout Ireland HIGHLY DESIRABLE Experience with any of the following would be particularly valuable: Leica or Trimble survey equipment | Advanced GPR systems | Multi-channel GPR | Geolitix or similar GPR processing platforms | Utility mapping | Topographical surveying | 2D/3D CAD deliverables | Construction and infrastructure projects THE SENIORITY WE'RE LOOKING FOR This isn't simply an equipment-operator position. We're looking for someone who understands why the data looks the way it does , can confidently interpret complex subsurface information, recognise anomalies and limitations, determine the appropriate survey methodology and stand behind the technical quality of the final deliverable.
