About the Role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Mapping to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.
This role will focus on advancing geospatial mapping capabilities that support map reconstruction, maintenance, and quality at scale. You will develop machine learning and computer vision solutions that help detect change, extract features, and improve the accuracy of lane-level road data. In partnership with cross-functional teams, you will also help ensure geospatial pipelines integrate cleanly into production workflows and data contracts.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $170,600 – $261,300 annually
Responsibilities
Design and implement mapping algorithms for map reconstruction and maintenance
Build and evolve geospatial data models for lane-level connectivity and road networks
Develop large-scale geospatial pipelines for processing sensor-derived road data
Apply machine learning and computer vision models for feature extraction and map change detection
Build automated quality and validation systems to catch map defects before release
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data contracts and integration points
Diagnose and resolve system-level issues in geospatial data pipelines and production workflows
Qualifications
3+ years of software engineering experience focused on mapping and geospatial algorithms
Strong foundation in geospatial and computational geometry concepts
Experience designing geospatial data models for map structures
Hands-on experience with machine learning or computer vision workflows in production
Proficiency in Python and C++
BS or MS in Computer Science, GIS, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience
