Project Description
This position is embedded within a GIS migration project, where geographic data from an legacy system is being migrated to a modern GIS platform. The goal is to ensure high quality and stability of the migration solution through a structured and automated test and deployment strategy. The test and deployment specialist works closely with developers, data experts, and business units, while operating independently and providing technical expertise to plan, execute, and optimize testing and deployment activities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement a comprehensive test strategy for the GIS migration solution, including both automated and manual testing.
Develop and implement test cases, test scripts, and test environments to validate functionality, stability, and performance of the migration.
Plan and coordinate deployments of migration software across various test and production environments.
Ensure a stable and reproducible deployment process using appropriate tools and methodologies (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
Collaborate with external development teams to align and validate test results.
Analyze test outcomes, identify defects, and support root-cause analysis in coordination with the external project team.
Document test and deployment processes, including reports and procedural guidelines.

Required Skills and Experience
Solid expertise in test architectures, test automation, and test management, preferably in GIS or data migration contexts.
Hands-on experience with deployment processes and tools (e.g., XRay, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps) and version control systems.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Terraform, SQL, Python/ArcPy) to automate testing and deployment workflows.
Practical experience in setting up and managing test environments, and conducting system, integration, and acceptance testing.
Ability to analyze complex technical systems and identify root causes of issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate effectively with diverse project stakeholders.
Experience in documenting technical processes and generating reports.
Prior experience with GIS systems and data migrations is highly desirable.
