Student Assistant (m/f/d)
for Geospatial Analysis and GIS
Your Future Responsibilities
Support the GKV-Spitzenverband in implementing a cross-departmental Geographic Information System (GIS) and assist departments in identifying, analyzing, and documenting requirements.
Research and evaluate technical solutions, and contribute to the development of concepts, documentation, and decision-making materials.
Prepare geospatial data, statistical indicators, and other domain-specific data for analysis and visualization.
Assist in conducting spatial analyses and help develop, test, and pilot use cases for GIS applications within the statutory health insurance sector.
What We Expect
You are currently enrolled at a university and pursuing an advanced Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Geoinformatics, Geography, Geomatics, Regional Planning, or a related field.
You have gained initial experience in data analysis, preprocessing, visualization, and interpretation.
You have hands-on experience with Geographic Information Systems (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, or comparable tools) and foundational knowledge of databases, SQL, Python, or other data processing tools.
You demonstrate strong analytical thinking and enjoy structuring complex topics clearly and systematically.
Ideally, you have basic knowledge of the structure of the German healthcare system and an interest in regional healthcare provision and its data-driven analysis.
A structured and independent work style, organizational skills, teamwork orientation, and good written and spoken German language skills complete your profile.
Our Benefits for You
Fixed-term part-time employment (14.82 hours per week, i.e., 38% of the standard collective agreement weekly working time of 39 hours) for a duration of two years. Your workplace is centrally located in Berlin with excellent public transport connections, within a modern and collectively agreed-upon association.
Flexible working hours and partial remote work (up to 50%).
Attractive remuneration according to our internal collective agreement, including 13 monthly salaries.
30 vacation days per calendar year (pro-rated based on weekly working hours), plus non-working days on December 24 and December 31.
Subsidy for a public transport subscription.
