Projects Behind the Position
You will primarily work on the following two initiatives:
Supporting MRCs and other municipal bodies in the Chaudière-Appalaches region to integrate ecological connectivity into their territorial planning. The nature of the support will be tailored to each territory’s needs and may include:
- Producing maps of conservation cores and ecological corridors;
- Formulating recommendations for maintaining or restoring the ecological network;
- Integrating these elements into land-use plans (Schémas d’aménagement);
- Developing informational materials.
Co-establishing, with the organization Vivre en Ville, a community of practice to foster experience-sharing and knowledge transfer, empowering MRCs in the Chaudière-Appalaches region to plan and implement concrete actions related to ecological connectivity.
Main Responsibilities
Support municipalities and MRCs in planning and implementing natural habitat conservation on their territories;
Organize events, consultations, training sessions, and meetings;
Manage the operational and financial aspects of projects;
Develop new projects focused on nature conservation and natural area enhancement;
Draft service offers, grant applications, and partnership documents;
Contribute to the implementation of an ecological connectivity communication plan (newsletter, press releases, website, social media, video production, etc.);
Perform any other related tasks.

Requirements
University degree in territorial planning;
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role;
Experience working with municipal environments;
Experience or strong interest in stakeholder engagement and mobilization.
Preferred Skills
Leadership, autonomy, teamwork, rigor, action- and results-oriented mindset;
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
Excellent command of written and spoken French.
Assets
Experience working within an NGO;
University degree in environmental science or biology;
Knowledge of natural habitat conservation issues in Quebec and voluntary conservation legal tools;
Proficiency in GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.);
Familiarity with the territory, issues, and key partners in the Chaudière-Appalaches and Capitale-Nationale regions.
