No available description Health & Welfare Benefits Full-time employees are required to purchase medical health benefits. Half-time and less than half-time employees may participate on a voluntary basis. Health benefit costs are 100% employee paid through a pre-tax payroll deduction. Employees may opt out of health coverage upon presentation of proof of alternate coverage. Dental coverage is mandatory for all employees working 20 hours per week, or more, regardless of outside coverage. Less than half-time employees may participate on a voluntary basis. The District contributes the full premium for "employee only". Any additional premium will be employee paid. Classified employees must participate in the CalPers Retirement program. All employees are enrolled in an Employee Assistant Program (EAP). The District also offers various optional benefits including life insurance, short term disability, and a medical and dependent care flexible spending option. Vacation Following the completion of six (6) months of probationary service, employees will receive credit for five (5) working days of vacation. Every month thereafter, employees will accrue vacation at a rate of 5/6 of a working days. (2 weeks per year). Annual employees accrue vacation hours to be taken off at a later date. School year employees earn and are paid out vacation hours. Holidays Annual employees receive fifteen (15) paid holidays per year. Holidays are: New Year's Day Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday Lincoln's Birthday Presidents' Day Spring Break Day Cesar Chavez Day Memorial Day 4th of July Veterans' Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day New Year's Eve School Year employees receive fourteen (14) paid holidays, including all of the above except 4th of July. Sick Leave Employees working the following number of days shall have the following amount of sick leave credited annually to their records at the beginning of the fiscal year, July 1.
